Evidence-based therapy for anxiety and OCD

About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder. My passion for this field stems from my personal experience with these challenges, which has given me a deep understanding of the barriers and burdens they can impose on individuals and their families.

I provide one-on-one therapy for adolescents and adults who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety or OCD. I also work with parents of anxious kids and teens to help increase their confidence and resources to help their child overcome anxiety or OCD.

*Certified in Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy

*Trained to provide Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions

What I care about

Prioritizing Evidence-Based Therapy

I am dedicated to providing evidence-based therapy for anxiety and OCD for several reasons:

Raising Awareness and Understanding

There is a significant lack of awareness and understanding surrounding anxiety and OCD. This often leads to individuals suffering in silence and others unintentionally exacerbating their struggles. By bringing awareness to the nuances of these conditions, I aim to motivate people to seek the help they need.

Specialized Treatment Availability

There are limited numbers of clinicians who understand and properly treat OCD. Research shows that certain treatments can actually worsen OCD symptoms. However, when evidence-based treatments, such as exposure and response prevention are applied, we can significantly reduce the impact of OCD on a person’s quality of life.

Compassionate Care for Caring Individuals

In my experience, those who struggle with anxiety and OCD are often incredibly caring, perceptive, and compassionate individuals. It brings me joy to help them reconnect with these qualities, step out of the anxiety bubble, and live a more value-driven life.

Support for Parents

Parents of anxious children and teens often feel helpless and seek clear direction and support. As a parent myself, I understand these feelings and strive to provide guidance to families navigating these challenges. Beyond seeking therapy for the child, parents need support in knowing how to help at home. This is why I am proud to offer SPACE- a program designed specifically for parents of anxious kids.

Commitment to Your Healing Journey

You will receive evidence-based treatment from a knowledgeable, trained, and compassionate therapist. I prioritize ongoing training and consultation to provide specialized care for individuals suffering from anxiety and OCD. Together, we can work to ensure that anxiety and OCD do not prevent you from living the life you desire.

My Background

I am licensed to practice in Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida, offering both virtual and in-person sessions at my office in Clemmons, NC. Originally from Central Florida, I moved to Alabama to attend Samford University, followed by graduate school at the University of Alabama. After living in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia for ten years, my family and I recently relocated to Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Personal Interests

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two daughters, as well as our beloved pets. I love being outdoors, connecting with family and friends, and occasionally avoiding household chores in favor of starting new projects. I also have a soft spot for dad jokes and gardening.
